For all of you who don't know, EP stands for Earning Potential. You gain EP in PvP hotspots on PvP worlds. You can tell if you are in a hotspot by looking in the bottom right of your screen for a flaming skull(Top right if you're in full screen mode). EP is used to determine your drops in a PvP kill. For a full guide on 26k/76k tricking, or for a better understanding of EP, use PvP Farm's guides. This guide is going to cover how to gain EP succesfully.

EP Spots(aa2)
------------
Now, a question I get alot after I trick with people is where do I gain my EP? I will usually physically show them, or tell them a good building. All the spots mentioned below are what I consider, the "good" spots. You gain EP in PvP Hotspots, indicated by a flaming skull on the bottom right of your screen(top right if your using full full screen).
Varrock Spots:
------------
Tactics(aa3)
------------
There's more to running from an enemy than just running to the bank. You have to plan out your path, and use every door and ladder to your advantage. Simply going into a single door room with 1 ladder won't be enough to stop the vicious PKers.
1. When using the 2nd floor of a house, try to stay on top of the spot you appear at when climbing the stairs/ladders. This makes it so if anyone checks the house for any EP'ers, he will have to look on the minimap or right click himself to see you. This gives you time to climb down the stairs/ladders, and make it to the nearest safe spot.
2. When being pursued by a PKer, make him follow you into buildings with doors that you can interact with. Close it on him when he tries to enter the room your in. When he opens the door, close it immediately to stop him. Doing this often can buy you some time to log out if you can't teleport.
3. Similiar to #2, this tactic involves ladders/stairs. When being chased up stairs, when you see your PKer on the floor with you, immediately go back down. He will be confused and go back down. Then, you immediately go back up. Doing this buys valuble time to log out, or just to make your PKer give up in trying to kill you.
4. Use agility obstacles to your advantage! Jumping over a fence, hopping stones, or climbing through holes will not only buy you time, but also, if your PKer's agility is too low, he can't follow you!
5. Running through crowds in PvP worlds may be scary, but they can also help conceal you on the minimap. This will make your PKer confused on where you are, but also, if someone else is there, he can attack your PKer, letting you escape. Be aware, though, there are always other PKers there. Use this method if you have enough food or prayer.
6. Always, always, always stay out of multi-combat zones! I cannot stress this enough to my fellow EP'ers! Multi-combat zones=death. PKer Clans always roam multi-combat zones, hoping to see that lonely little EP'er resting next to a tree. Once they spot you, it's over(atleast on a members world). In F2P, you don't have to worry about Ancient Magicks, so keep that in mind. Although they can entangle you, so watch out. That's why we have our dragon hide for our equipment. Great magic defenses.
------------
Wind Bolt Method(aa4)
------------
With a partner that you trust, you two can both incorporate the wind bolt method to make gaining EP even safer. How it works is, both of you wear Full Rune, bronze, or adamant. You both should also have enough runes to cast Wind Bolt for a very long time(air staff is a MUST, chaos runes). Now, set Wind Bolt for your autocast on your staff, and have it as your attack style. Now, both of you just need to cast it on each other. This method is very effective due to others being unable to attack you, you get magic exp, and you can do other things while wind bolting.
------------
Common Misconceptions(aa5)
------------
There are many EP rumours out there that it's impossible for me to list them all here. But I will mention the most popular.
CM #1: You can get EP in non-hotspot zones.
------------
